Marketing Assistant Job Description

Looking to build a long-term relationship with a Marketing Assistant. Someone who is self-motivated and strives to improve both themselves, as well as the companies they work with. This position offers many opportunities for growth. Pragmatic, logical, and resourceful are all traits we are looking for. We are a small-mid size agency that is expanding & need someone who is ready to work ASAP.

  • Employment type – Part time & full time contractor
  • Working hoursM-F close to normal business hours
  • Pay – $15-30 hourly. Pay is based on competency & experience
  • Experience – Entry level and above

Basic Responsibilities

 

  • Reporting – Assist with reporting and analytics activities to monitor metrics of email, SEO, social, campaigns, etc.
  • Social media – Weekly posts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, GMB, etc..)
  • Basic data-entry – Update spreadsheets, databases, and inventories with statistical, financial, and non-financial information
  • Websites – Perform basic website content updates – update titles, dates, images, etc.
  • Basic comms – Review calls, emails, texts; tag or categorize, data-entry, etc.
  • General office duties – support the team; cleaning, trash, organizing, errands, purchases, etc.

Other Potential Responsibilities

If you can complete the basic responsibilities reliably and efficiently, then we can assign some of these higher level tasks.

  • Campaigns – help with planning, budgeting, reporting, systems administration, execution, and training
  • Content Research – research using basic tools in prep for Copywriters, Video Producers, and other Creatives; outline research with resources and references
  • Data Research – various market research using various marketing tools; pull & organize data into reports
  • Websites – updates and maintenance, content publishing, etc. (WordPress experience a plus!)
  • Proof & Edit – giving constructive criticism to team members
  • Analysis – Assist in analyzing marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies
  • Misc – Undertake individual tasks of a marketing plan as assigned; coordinate with clients to maintain schedule and scope

  • College degree is not required
  • Works well on a team/collaborative environment
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, or Microsoft Office
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong writing and verbal skills
  • Must adhere to deadlines
  • Must be able to take feedback and criticism from managers and other team members
  • At least 1-2 years of professional experience in marketing, SEO, sales, & design
  • Open to working on performance and merit-based promotions and growth opportunities
