Copywriter Job Description
We are looking to develop a long-term relationship with a Freelance Copywriter who is self-motivated & strives to improve both themselves, as well as the companies they work with. In office and remote copywriting positions are available. Pragmatic, logical, & resourceful are valuable traits we look for. We are a small-mid size Raleigh based agency that is expanding in clientele and need someone who is ready to work ASAP.
- Employment type – Part time & full time contractor
- Working hours – M-F close to normal business hours
- Pay – $25 – $50 hourly. Pay is based on competency & experience
- Experience – Entry level and above
- Location – Raleigh, NC

Copywriter Responsibilities

- Work with SEO and Strategy teams to develop content
- Write blogs ranging from a few hundred words to several thousand
- Be able to write in multiple tones & for varying reading levels
- Source relevant images and graphics to support content
- Conduct thorough research on topics as assigned
- Revise copy based on client & internal feedback
- Review, proof, & edit copy materials as assigned
Our Requirements
- Ability to write clearly and concisely
- Can write for various audiences and in various styles
- Excellent spelling and grammar
- Must be able to conduct research into topics and document that research
- Can work collaboratively within a remote and in-person team environment
- Must have good communication skills, i.e. responding to emails, messages, calls in a timely manner
- Has the motivation and desire to contribute new ideas to the team
- Can handle constructive criticism and performance reviews from the team
- Proficiency in Google Suite, or Microsoft Office

Experience

- College degree is not required
- At least 2 years of professional copywriting experience, not just school or personal projects
- WordPress experience
- Professional SEO experience is a plusis a plus
- Social media experience is a plus
- General design experience is a plus
- Knowledge and experience of working with businesses and corporations in a professional setting is a plus
- Knowledge of basic design principles is a plus
